I have the new interface and a subscription for $ 9.99 but I can no longer generate an image so has the option been removed or do you need a subscription for $ 29.99?

2021.12.06 21:30 earcher2020 John Carpenter Directed Rankings

I've loved/liked a few Carpenter films so the past couple of months I decided to watch all his directed films also seeing Red Letter Media's rankings I decided to rank mine from favourite to least favourite:

  1. Escape From New York - love everything about this film, The Score especially the opening credits maybe my favourite opening credits along with the orignal Terminator and Kurt Russell I am a massive fan off. Its definitely one of my favourite films of all time.
  2. The Thing - I think most of us would agree this is Carpenters best film and it is also one of my favourite films of all time but I prefer Escape From New York slightly more maybe because I saw it first and that is what got me into Carpenter.
  3. Halloween - What can I say? One of the greatest horror films ever so impressive what they did with a low budget.
  4. The Fog - Even tho it is a slow burn for most of the film its similar to Halloween where the atmosphere and tension is everything and I loved every minute of it, I do wish we saw more visuals of the ghost pirates tho as I thought they were cool.
  5. They Live - Takes its time to get going but as soon as Roddy Piper discovers the sunglasses the film certainly goes forward from there, The fight scene is obviously amazing.
  6. Big Trouble In Little China - I'm not really into the fantasy genre at all so the plot of this film doesn't interest me to be honest but the cast makes this film what it is and it's probably the fastest pace film from Carpenter it nevers stops from start to finish.
  7. Assault On Precinct 13 - Again very impressive with such a low budget to make a Fun and Campy thriller, The leads could of been a bit better but they were fine enough.
  8. Vampires - I enjoyed this way more than I thought I would as I went in with low expectations because I think most people don't like this film but I enjoyed it a lot. Cool Kills, James Woods is hilarious and entertaining and I loved the Western feel especially during the middle of the film where it kinds of turns into a roadtrip film for a little bit.
  9. In The Mouth Of Madness - Sam Neil is brilliant in this, The concept is pretty neat, overall I enjoyed it a lot but I do think the film tails off in the last 30 minutes.
  10. Prince Of Darkness - Out of all of Carpenters films this one probably takes the longest to get going but as soon as it does it's very good and a interesting concept plus Donald Pleasance is in it so that definitely helps.
  11. Starman - Similar to Big Trouble not my sort of genre at all but I enjoyed most of the film, The relationship between Karen Allen and Jeff Bridges develops brilliantly and there are some effective emotional moments in it.
  12. Christine - Another good film but nothing special. The concept is cool and when the car goes around killing people on its own I enjoyed that a lot but my biggest issue was the characters even Arnie I never really cared for maybe it's the actors but overall it's still a pretty good film.
  13. Escape From LA - A goofy/ bit of an insult to Escape From New York in my opinion but Kurt Russell is still Snake plus Steve Buscemi and Pam Grier so it was an ok film but enjoyable enough.
  14. Ghost Of Mars - Similar to Escape From LA it was a ok film but I enjoyed it more than I expected as I've heard that this is Carpenters worst film but I thought it was fun in a Campy way. I could of done without the rock music tho as the score.
  15. Memoirs Of An Invisible Man - When Chevy Chase becomes invisible The 30 minutes after that are enjoyable but it tails off a little for me but again Sam Neil was fantastic.
  16. The Ward - Suprised Carpernter did this one as its never mentioned but I thought it was a solid horror flick. Had some cool kills and I thought the main monster was well designed and kind of intimidating so that was fine with me.
  17. Village Of The Damned - A couple of cool bits but overall I thought it was dull and boring for the majority of it.
  18. Dark Star - This one is hard to judge as it was a student film that was pushed for a theatrical release and you can definitely notice that as most of the film nothing is happening for the most part but a great theme tho.
What are your favourite and least favourite of John Carpenters films?

2021.12.06 21:30 nsmith29 PE Environmental Last couple of Weeks Efforts

I have a few weeks left to study for my CBT Environmental. I’m wondering if any one has any last minute advice. Should I focus on practice problems ( I have a subscription to PPI) or reading or what? I’m weakest on Air and trying to focus on some of those concepts but it seems to be a mixed bag of what questions I’ll get. Any advice is appreciated.

2021.12.06 21:30 lolipomasta61 Need some Career advice

So I got fired today from my CPA firm..
Tough news to overcome but I was hoping some people on here would be able to help out and give me some advice into what my next steps could/should be.
So a little about me, i’m 21, have my bachelors in Accounting and worked at this firm for about 3 months before they decided to let me go. I didn’t really enjoy the work I was doing there, but it was also an extremely small firm. (only 3 people).
I honestly feel super down in the dumps and defeated right now because the decision came so abruptly and I don’t know whether my next job should be with a larger firm or maybe a smaller one.
I want to work towards my CPA license eventually but that would mean I need to have and work under a CPA for at least 2 years in my state.
For updating my resume, do I even include the place I just got fired from, and I don’t know what to do when they ask why I don’t work there anymore.
Also I have a question about how most accounting firms pay their staff. I wasn’t aware that my firm paid me for only the time I spend on admins project or working on clients projects. Every day I would spend at least a few hours at my desk waiting for another project to be assigned to me, and during that time i would not get paid. Is every accounting job like this? It was said I would be making good money when first starting and would only come up with a little over $1,000 a month (barely enough to survive).
Sorry If there are any errors in my post, I am a little disappointed and just looking for some answers right now. Any type of advice is totally welcome and I appreciate you guys in advance ! And so do have some more questions but I’ll post those later, I’m curious to see some of the responses I get.

2021.12.06 21:30 That-Syrup Why do people say prot paladin teams are easy wins? They literally aren't

I am a 2.6k xp player this season and honestly that's probably my highest, maybe 2700 with some nice inflation and good comp. But this season my friend and I have helped 3 LFG people (who were stuck around 2.1k-2.2k) get gladiator and every single time we're doing glad wins we encounter prot paladin comps.
The only time it's "easy" to beat them is when they're doing some one shot cheese bs and after q'ing so many games this season we know all of the potential cheese comps like prot/sub/x prot/ww/dh prot/boomy/ww etc. Literally only easy because we know exactly what they're gonna do.
But when they're playing prot/healex like prot/bm/rsham, prot/disc/WW, etc. it's not easy. Maybe it's easy when you're running rdruid splay or something that significantly benefits from Maledict but idk. Also it's very likely that the players who are running this are multiglad/r1 players, it's almost never a first time glad team pushing. In fact I regurarly see r1 players losing to these kinds of comps.
But I read posts on this subreddit whenever someone complains about prot pal a lot of people are like "lol prot is free rating i farm them all the time".

2021.12.06 21:30 the_askhole Everything's a Provider?

I showed a junior engineer that you can reduce dependencies by using inheritance and only using the parts of the interface you need.
For example,
class Circle : Shape, UIElement {}
And later, if all you need is shape properties, then use a Shape ref to point to a circle, don't require circles.
But instead, he's now broken everything down into single field classes/structures. E.g.
class NameProvider { string name; } class AddressProvider { string address; } class AgeProvider { int age; } class TitleProvider { string title; } class RankProvider { int rank; } class HeightProvider { int height; } ... class Thing : NameProvider, AddressProvider, AgeProvider, TitleProvider, RankProvider, HeightProvider, ...
I find this level of breaking things ridiculous, and it's become impossible to work with his code. It takes forever to figure out what anything is and where it is defined. But he's in love with this new approach and won't compromise. Is there a formal reason to not break things out so much? Or better yet, is there a test for when you've broken things out the right amount?
